Illustrations
My illustrations are focused around two central ideas: color and story. If the illustration is able to tell the viewer something about its history or what its intent is then that illustration has met the first criteria. The second aspect is color, which I try to make a point of emphasizing contrast, in order to add visual interest to encourage to viewer to investigate the piece further.
The Digital
When working with digital media, color becomes a major focus on my artwork. The medium allows for quick experimentation and changes on the fly, allowing more extreme palettes that would otherwise come at a great price of time and resources in a physical piece, to be utilized. I primarily focus on creating a living form of some kind in my work, leaving body language and forms to tell the story, as well as the color palette.

The physical
Transferring into a physical medium, my work becomes much more impressionistic. I still seek to create a vibrantly colored piece but often the process is much slower, methodical, and careful, due to the limited nature of resources when working physically as opposed to digitally. My physical work, as well as being highly focused on contrast, also incorporates a strong textural element that goes hand in hand with the impressionistic approach I take. While my digital work can sometimes have texture, my physical work excels in this aspect by comparison.
